On the call of OMSA, government doctors in Puri district have protested by wearing black badges on Doctors' Day. According to the association, although 10-point demands have been presented to the government for a long time, they have not been resolved yet.
These demands include implementation of central DACP, exit policy from the KBK region, regular DPC meetings for promotion, health insurance for all doctors, security of doctors and other issues. The association said that the Chief Minister and the Health Minister had earlier promised to fulfill the demands, but they were not implemented, so they were forced to protest.
Puri District Surgeon Dr. Pabitra Mohan Malik said that if the demands are not met, the protest will continue indefinitely. Similarly, the SCB Junior Doctors Association has also expressed support for the Omsa agitation.
While there is a possibility that the doctors' agitation will impact healthcare services, everyone is watching to see if the government will take immediate steps to meet their demands.
