Puri, 14/08: A big success for the police in the murder of minor Om Sikari in Chilika Lake. The Puri district police have arrested 18 accused within 48 hours of the case being registered at Krishnaprasad police station.. Case number 212/2026 has been registered at Krishnaprasad police station in this regard. According to police information, on the evening of August 10, a group from Chandraput village under Balugaon police station in Khordha district had allegedly reached Kumarpur area with the intention of stealing shrimp. They came with deadly weapons and attacked Chinmay Behera, his brother and minor Om when they resisted, the police said. Om died in this while the body was recovered after about 20 hours. Multiple teams conducted raids in Puri, Ganjam and Khordha and arrested 18 people and seized 3 boats and wooden sticks.
