According to information, about 3 months ago, Madan Dalai was living in a rented house of Manorama Sahu in Kumbharpada area with his mother. However, Madan was not seen since August 21. After this, the suspicion of the house owner increased.
The house owner became suspicious after seeing an unusual plaster in a place in the kitchen of the house. After being informed, the police reached the spot and started investigation under the leadership of Kumbarpada Police Station Officer Vijay Ketan Behera. After digging up the suspected spot, the police recovered a decomposed body from there.
The body is believed to be about 4 days old and a knife has also been recovered from the spot. While the police suspect that the incident took place on August 19, Madan was last seen on August 21.
According to the initial investigation of the police, after burying the body in the kitchen, an attempt was made to hide it by placing wood and other furniture on it. Later, it was reported that boards were placed on it, plastered and lime was poured over it.
On the other hand, according to the owner of the house, Manorma Sahu, Madan used to go to the temple every day and recite Bhajans. However, his sudden absence and the change in the kitchen of the house raised suspicions.
According to the information of Puri ACP, the investigation will also be done on the basis of the CCTV footage installed at the house owner's house. The police are continuing the investigation to clarify the identity of the deceased and the real cause of death.
