Puri: The Aam Aadmi Party has raised serious questions about the source of water being supplied to the Akshaya Patra Foundation, which prepares midday meals for about 71,000 students in Puri, and where the wastewater is being discharged. In this regard, the party has demanded a high-level investigation in a press conference held in Puri.

According to the Puri district Aam Aadmi Party, despite repeated requests for information under the Right to Information Act regarding the source of water used in the kitchen of the Akshaya Patra Foundation in Puri, no clear information has been provided by the concerned department.

Similarly, the Aam Aadmi Party has also alleged that the foundation's wastewater is being discharged directly into the Mangala river without proper treatment. Photos and videos have also been given to the media in support of this allegation. The party's Puri district president Sanjiv Kumar Mohanty said that the government should immediately clarify this issue related to the health of thousands of students and conduct an impartial high-level investigation.

If the allegations of untreated sewage being discharged into the Mangala river are proven true, the party has demanded strict legal action against the concerned institutions and responsible officials. The Aam Aadmi Party has warned that a massive public movement will be launched in the coming days if the government does not take immediate action.
